Arena Rules

     1.    Ride at your own risk.

     2.   No one under the age of 18 allowed without parent or guardian.

     3.   Proof of negative Coggins is required on ALL horses.

     4.   Clean up after yourself, your horse(s), and trailers.

     5.   Arena is for pleasure riding only unless rented for exclusive use. No professional lessons or commercial use

           permitted unless rented for that purpose. Proof of Liability Insurance is required for professional lessons or

           commercial use.

     6.   No unauthorized use of Posse tractor or other equipment.

     7.   Guest riders must be accompanied by member. Members may have one guest at a time.

     8.   Sharing of gate code with non-members is grounds for membership revocation.

     9.   No unauthorized use of arena lights or electricity.

     10. Conserve water and be sure to turn off after use.

     11. Gate(s) should remain closed except during events. Last one to leave - lock the gate.

     12. Repairs and maintenance needs should be reported to:  corralboss@georgetownrodeo.com

     13. Please be courteous when riding.


Any violation of the above rules may be grounds for membership revocation and/or loss of arena use.

Posse Members

Posse Members are our most important asset. Without membership, we would not have survived all these years.


Any American citizen of Williamson County, Texas and adjoining Counties, eighteen (18) years of age or older is eligible for membership.  Applicants must not have a criminal record and must have a good reputation.


Applicants may not be discriminated against because of race, color, sex, religion, age, national origin or handicap.


The Posse will not be limited in number of members. There shall be five classes of members:


Lifetime Members

Any Active Member in good standing with ten (10) years of service and a minimum of sixty-five (65) years of age; or with twenty (20) years of service and a minimum of sixty (60) years of age; or with twenty-five (25) years of service and a minimum of fifty-five (55) years of age; may request to become a lifetime member. Lifetime Members will be given priority reservations for Box Seats during any Posse event. Box seat rights shall pass to the Spouse only. Lifetime Members will not be required to pay dues, but will be otherwise subject to all the rules and regulations, and the by-laws set forth, and as may be amended from time to time. Spouses of deceased Lifetime Members in good standing shall automatically become Lifetime Members.


Active Members

Active Members will subject to annual membership dues in January of each calendar year. Active Members must attend all regularly called meetings. Any member who does not attend three (3) regularly called meetings in a row will forfeit any and all  privileges, including voting and arena use. Members must then attend a minimum of two (2) regularly called meetings, with privileges being reinstated upon attendance of the third (3rd) regularly called meeting. Active Members shall be subject to all the rules and regulations, and the by-laws set forth, and as may be amended from time to time.


Honorary Members

Honorary Members will not be required to pay dues and are not subject to the rules applying to regular attendance of regular meetings, functions and/or emergency calls. Honorary Members are appointed by the Board of Directors and approved by the Membership of the Posse. Honorary Members shall be subject to all the rules and regulations, and the by-laws set forth, and as may be amended from time to time.


Supporting Members

Any posse member, other than Honorary or Lifetime, that has not attended a regular meeting between January 1st and December 31st of the previous calendar year will be automatically assigned to this class. Dues for this class shall be the same as that of an Active Member. Supporting Member will not be subject to the rules applying to attendance of regular meetings, functions, and emergency calls as set forth for Active members. Supporting Members will not have voting privileges and will not be eligible to hold any office of the Posse. Supporting Members shall be subject to all the rules and regulations, and the by-laws set forth, and as may be amended from time to time.


Arena Use Members

Arena Use Members will not be subject to the rules applying to attendance of regular meetings, functions, and emergency calls as set forth for Active members. Arena Use Members will not have voting privileges and will not be eligible to hold any office of the Posse. Arena Use Members shall be subject to all the rules and regulations, and the by-laws set forth, and as may be amended from time to time.
